      Congratulations Mr. President! The United States is winning yet again, only this time this great nation is not winning a war against terror, nor are we winning a war against crime, drugs, illegal immigration or in having the greatest economy. No, the United States is winning in that the U.S. has the distinction of having the most COVID-19 cases in the world. With 164,253 cases and rising, the United States has become the new epi-center for the coronavirus, otherwise known as COVID19.

     "We have it totally under control, it's one person from China", stated the president on January 22nd. "We think we have it very well under control", the president on January 30th. "We pretty much shut it down coming from China", the president on February 2nd. "You know in April supposedly it dies with the warmer weather", the president on February tenth. "It gets warm, historically that has been able to kill the virus", said the president on Valentine's Day. "The people are all getting better, they're all getting better", the president on the 25th of February". "And the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to zero", the president on February 26th. "One day it's all going to disappear, one day it's like a miracle it's going to disappear", the president on February 27th. 


      Lie after lie. Fib after fib. Words, just words is what Americans heard coming out from the President's mouth concerning the deadly corona virus. Not one word that came from the president's mouth was true. The fact is, the president and his administration did not have the virus under control, and they certainly did not have it very well under control. The President, also did not "shut it down" as he stated on February 2nd, and the warmer temperatures did not kill the virus as the president stated, nor did the 15 original cases go down to zero, and the virus certainly never disappeared as the president touted it would, and the virus certainly wasn't the Democrats' new hoax. With over 3000 COVID-19 deaths and counting, Americans wish that the coronavirus really was just a hoax.


    COVID-19, is not the Democrat's new hoax, and as of March 17th the president stated that he knew all along that the coronavirus was a pandemic. That being said, then if the president of the United States really knew that the coronavorus was a pandemic that could wipe out a portion of the U.S. population, for the love of God, why did he not shut the country down sooner? Was the president holding rallies more important than American lives? Was the stock market and the economy more important than American lives? Was ignoring a deadly disease as so the president could enjoy a weekend at Mar-a-lago entertaining the Brazilian president more important than American lives? Why? Why sacrifice a one American life for a rally, for the market, for the economy, or for a weekend of entertaining? One American life lost to COVID-19 is too many, and sadly the president is now stating that the U.S. possibly losing one to two hundred thousand would be a good thing. One to two hundred thousand American lives lost due to COVID-19, is not a good thing. Furthermore, the country being shutdown for one to three months or longer, is definitely not a good thing. 


    Unfortunately, due to the negligence of this president and his administration, America has now lost 3167 lives, and just over 500 today. Not to mention, that the coronavirus economic freeze has cost 47 million jobs, and another 67 million jobs are now at risk. The country is to put it bluntly, in the toilet. It's in the toilet due to in large part to a president who in May 2018, axed the executive branch that was responsible for devising a response to a pandemic. The president when asked why he disbanded the pandemic response team, replied that we didn't need it, and if we did, he would bring it back. Apparently, daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared, and other members of the Trump administration failed to make the right call regarding the coronavirus, As so it would seem, the United States did in fact need a pandemic response team. Had the U.S. had a pandemic response team tracking the virus, the president more than likely would have been advised to shut down the country sooner than later. 


    The president knew. The president knew on January 30th that the coronavirus was on a fast pace to becoming a pandemic when the World Heath Organization declared the coronavirus a global emergency. Ye,t the president did nothing. The president downplayed the coronavirus again and again. The first known case of COVID-19 in the U. S. was on January 20th 2020. The first case was a 35 year old man who had returned from Wuhan, China five days earlier. On January 28th, the White House established the coronavirus task force. Two days later flights from most major airlines suspended travel to and from China. Unfortunately, the travel ban was a partial travel ban that did not suspend all flights to and from China. There were exceptions, too many exceptions. Those exceptions along with 300, 000 travelers that entered the U.S. from China just prior to the travel ban brought the coronavirus right on in, and due to the failure of this president to act, America is in the tragic position it is today. 


    America did not heed the warnings by other heavily infected countries like Italy, and Spain, nor did America follow the protocol of countries like Singapore,  South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan that were successful in somewhat containing the virus and controlling the spread by having their citiizens all wear masks, spraying their streets, parks, and places of business, and self isolating early on.  Had the President shut down the country back in early February, this country could have well avoided a massive loss of lives. Had the president in January ordered masks to be made for every citizen, the spread of the virus could have been controlled. Had the president like other nations successful in controlling the spread, had tests for all, the virus could have been controlled. The president repeatedly states that we are testing more than any other country, and it's an outright lie. We are not testing more than any other country, because we just don't have the tests. South Korea has tested five times the amount of the U.S, and Italy has tested four times more than the U.S. . The president lied. The president lied, and he just keeps on lying . Fortunately for him, a good many of his supporters fail to hold him accountable. Well, as I myself have been unemployed since March 18th, I will hold the president accountable. The president deserves to be held accountable for failing the people by mocking, and making light of a deadly pandemic that has cost and will cost thousands of lives as well as the financial stability of millions of Americans who may never make it back, and it is my hope that come November, America says, "your're fired Mr. President"!

It's Too Late...

            It's too late. It's too late for America to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus otherwise known as COVID19. With 60,642 Coronavirus cases and 817 deaths and rising by the minute here in the U.S., we have failed, and we are still failing. We have failed to heed the warnings by those in China that dared to speak. We have failed to heed the warnings by those in Italy and Spain that have been quarantined and have watched their lives change overnight. We have failed in listening to those who are living a life of self isolation and those that have suffered losing loved ones. We have failed to listen to all those who have attempted to warn us on the seriousness of the Coronavirus. We have failed to listen to the experts in infectious diseases and professionals in the medical field. We have failed to observe other nations as to learn how to keep the numbers low. We have failed to prepare the American public for a pandemic. We have failed in part, due to having a president that mocked the Coronavirus at his rallies. We have failed in that we have a president that seems to have literally brainwashed his followers into believing that he knows all, when he simply does not. While the president may know how to boost the economy, create jobs, and negotiate trade deals, we do not have a president that is an expert on infectious diseases and pandemics. We do however have a president that pretends to know almost as much if not more than experts on infectious diseases and pandemics.  We the people have not failed, it is our president and his administration who have failed. It is the President and his administration that have failed to protect the American people.

     Ad nauseam, the president and his cheerleaders at Fox News would exclaim how many lives were saved due to his stopping the flights from China early on. The president stated that his ban on travel from China was "unprecedented". The president stated that the travel ban was "his", ever so very brilliant idea, and his idea alone. The president's administration and all at Fox News would drill nightly into the heads of Americans that his travel ban on flights from China was "unprecedented". Had the travel ban been implemented sooner, and had it been a complete travel ban, it would have been "unprecedented", but it was not true. It was a lie. The travel ban was not due to the president's brilliance. The travel ban was advised as "uniform", at the recommendation of the experts in Secretary, Alex Azar's  Health and Human Services department . The president also did not completely stop the flights from China. First and foremost, the travel ban was implemented too late. The travel restriction on flights from China was not effective until February 2nd. The previous month 300,000 people entered the United States from China. By the time the president implemented the travel ban, the virus had already been unleashed in America. Furthermore, the travel ban was not a total travel ban. Secretary, Alex Azar stated that when the travel restrictions to and from China were announced on Jan. 31, the policy prohibited non-U.S. citizens, other than the immediate family of U.S. citizens and permanent residents who had traveled to China within the last two weeks from re-entering the U.S. That being said, there were exceptions in the president's
"unprecedented" travel ban, too many exceptions. 

     Those exceptions have lead to now 841 deaths in the U.S. and counting. Those exceptions have led to the United States having the 3rd highest number of Coronavirus cases in world behind China and Italy. The U.S. is already at  61,081 cases and as told by the pandemic experts we have not yet even peaked. China who had the highest number of Coronavirus cases in world, had a total of 81,218 cases and 3281 deaths,  while Italy ranked 2nd, with 74,386 cases and 7503 deaths.  It is assumed by most that China hid the true number of cases, and deaths, however it appears our government is doing the same. Our government by not testing is keeping the numbers low. Unfortunately for the president all states such as New York are not on board with hiding the true number of COVID19 cases. States like Florida who has had a large number of travelers from New York, and Connecticut who have not self isolated, has been at around 1600 cases for days. Failure to protect. That is what our local and federal government officials are doing. They are failing to protect the American people. 

    The president was warned early on that the Coronavirus was affecting thousands in China. The president was advised early on to close the borders. The president failed to listen. The president's travel ban on China was not "unprecedented", it was a joke. Over 300,000 travelers had already entered the U.S. and they continued to enter as there were exceptions. The president failed to act abruptly on banning travel from countries abroad. Germany, Israel, Iran and other various countries closed their borders almost immediately upon seeing the number of COVID19 cases rise throughout the world. Israel even went so far as to ban travel early on from highly infected areas here in the U.S. Yes, Israel banned travel from the states of California, Washington, and New York. Had our president done a domestic travel ban at the same time as he banned international travel, the president could have quite possibly prevented a major COVID19 outbreak, but he didn't. He didn't and that resulted in thousands of travelers from the Northeast traveling to southern states for spring break. Quite obviously, Florida was where the majority of spring breakers chose to land. Not to mention all of the snow birds that fly back and forth. These travelers were told to "self isolate" a week after a good many had already arrived. Not that that would have mattered as again and again I've heard of Americans returning from abroad that did not have their temperature taken as per FDA and CDC COVID19 guidelines.  Essentially, the Coronavirus pandemic has been handled with complete negligence by the president and his administration, not to mention lunacy. It is lunacy for a president to go from mocking a disease for which there is no cure, to then saying life will be shutdown for weeks as to prevent the spread, to then as of yesterday saying that we will be in chursh togethjer by Easter. As of yesterday the World Health Organization stated that the United States would soon be the epicenter of the virus if it were not diligent in preventing the spread. 

    We have not prevented the spread. We have not prevented the spread when a man who tested positive for COVID19 was recently at a bar in West Palm Beach, Fl. at a St. Patrick's Day party. We have not prevented the spread when thousands of travelers from abroad, and from highly infected states such as New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Washington, Texas, and California have been able to travel and have not self isolated or self quarantined. Our government officials both at the state and federal levels have not taken this pandemic seriously. They have failed to protect us. Countries like Hong Kong, give travelers bracelets as so the government can track their every move until their time in self isolation is over. Other countries such as South Korea and Hong Kong made every citizen and or traveler wear a mask and they have masks to give. We in America do not even have enough masks for physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals. Many countries such as China, Israel, South Korea and Hong Kong went so far as to spray their streets, schools, shopping malls and various businesses due to the virus being found to be airborne. We have done none of that. Our government has failed. Our government has failed to protect the people and we the people will pay dearly. We will pay dearly with the loss of our lives or the loss of those we love. That being said, as I close there are now 64,775 COVID19 cases at present, and 910 people who have died. Yes, I do firmly believe that our government is guilty in failing to protect we the people. It's too late...
