You Left The War Mr. President

                                                      May 27,2020
       Coronavirus Cases: 1,745,803

             Deaths: 102,107

Not one tweet was tweeted yesterday by Donald J. Trump expressing concern for the 102,000 Americans that have died due to the coronavirus. Not one word was spoken yesterday expressing concern for the 102, 107 Americans that have died due to the coronavirus. Nothing! Donald J. Trump tweeted up a storm, yet not a tweet was tweeted about over 100,000 Americans dying from the deadly pandemic that is still very much present across America. Donald J. Trump tweeted about the Russia Hoax, Obamagate, mail in ballots, the Flynn vindication, the witch hunt, and he even mocked the Democratic hopeful, former Vice President, Joe Biden for wearing a mask himself, but nothing about those who have died from the deadly coronavirus, nothing. In fact, in reading the president's tweet storm, one would not  even know that America was still being affected by a pandemic. But for one tweet, an outright lie that America had tested more than anyone in the world, one would think America had beaten the coronavirus and it was over.

The pandemic is not over, in fact it is far from being over . As the America has now passed 100,000 lives lost, America is losing the battle with the coronavirus. As so it would seem, Donald J. Trump seems to think that if he ignores the deadly pandemic, people will forget about the pandemic. I'm quite certain the family members of the now over 102,000 people who have died from the coronavirus will not forget that America is still under the threat of the deadly pandemic. I'm quite certain the first responders that are putting their own lives at risk on a daily basis caring for coronavirus patients, have not forgotten that America is still very much under the threat of the coronavirus. I'm also quite certain that those recovering from the coronavirus, and those fighting for their lives against the deadly disease at present, have not forgotten that America is still in danger, as the coronavirus is far from being gone. The fact is, despite Donald J. Trump ignoring the deadly pandemic,  millions of Americans are terrified of the coronavirus, otherwise known as, COVID-19.

Donald J. Trump takes no responsibility for failing to protect and prepare America from the deadly pandemic, yet, he touts himself as a "wartime president". Well this "wartime president", has left the war. This self proclaimed "wartime president", has literally left the war and is aiding the enemy. As Donald J. Trump refuses to wear a mask, he is helping to spread the deadly disease. The fact is, masks have been proven to prevent the spread in other countries. Donald J. Trump now requires all around him to wear masks as to protect himself ,yet he won't wear a mask as to protect others. By Donald J. Trump refusing to wear a mask, he is failing to show leadership by leading by example. Donald J. Trump is also showing that he doesn't care about saving the lives of Americans. If Donald J. Trump cared he would wear a mask. It's that simple. Instead, Donald J. Trump mocked the former Vice President and Democratic Presidential candidate, Joe Biden for wearing a mask this past Memorial Day. The former Vice President, Joe Biden and his wife looked like a "first couple", as  they wore masks on Memorial Day. Wearing a mask is what a president and or leader should do during a pandemic, that is, if he cares about his people. White House press secretary, Kaleigh McEnany echoed the president in  mocking the former vice president for wearing a mask outdoors. The fact is, masks should be worn outdoors if one is in close proximity with others as to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

Donald J. Trump is too cool to wear a mask. That being said, Donald J. Trump and the First Lady have not looked like a First Couple during a deadly pandemic. While the Donald can do his best to ignore that America is still very much in the middle of a war against a deadly  pandemic, the pandemic doesn't care. The coronavirus is rapidly spreading as states failed to follow CDC guidelines on how to re-open businesses, schools, parks, churches, etcetera all too soon. That being said this American is terrified to be living in these strange times. This American is terrified, as never have I felt so insecure, so uncertain, and so unsafe with a president as I do at present. Donald J. Trump has had plenty of opportunities to step up to the plate and show leadership. He has had moments, many moments where he could have comforted the nation and exhibited compassion. Instead, former President G.W. Bush released a video for Americans that reminded many Americans of what it felt like to have a leader who cared. In two minutes, the former president reassured and comforted Americans with his kind words of wisdom. Donald J. Trump has failed to step up to the plate, lead, and give Americans hope for better days. He has instead, caused Americans to feel uneasy, uncertain, and agitated with his daily briefings of being unhinged and his tweeting rampages. Donald J. Trump is a "wartime president" in his dreams only. As America surpasses 100,000 dead from the coronavirus, America weeps, as America's president has left the war .
